I attended Northern Colorado on a football scholarship. I graduated with honors and received my degree in the Physical Education K-12 teaching licensure program. Sports and being physically active has had tremendously positive effect on my life and these are two things I am extremely passionate about. I feel it is my responsibility to continue the cycle of positive effects of sports/physical activity by getting youngsters excited and involved in something they can and should do for the rest of their lives. I truly enjoy all sports but a few of my favorites are basketball, rugby, volleyball, and football. I also enjoy lifting weights, running with my dog, and long boarding. I design the lessons I teach using the NASPE and state standards as a guide. I strive to have every student engaged in the maximum amount of activity our time together allows at a level that is developmentally appropriate for each individual child. For the youngsters (K-4) I teach from skills development methodology and with the older students I tend to focus on the tactical approach and the sports education model. The mission of my sequential physical education program is to empower every student to become physically active for a lifetime to reap all the positive physical, emotional, cognitive, and social benefits.
